Dr. Long Quan completed his college education at Indiana University in 1989, earning a Bachelor of Science degree with highest distinction in Biology. He graduated from medical school at Duke University School of Medicine in 1996 with a M.D. and a Ph.D degree. Next he completed an Internal Medicine Internship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
After internship, Dr. Quan relocated to Houston, Texas where he began his residency in dermatology at Baylor College of Medicine. Next, he pursued a fellowship specializing in MOHS micrographic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.
He joined Carolinas Dermatology group in 2001 and specializes in Mohs micrographic surgery. Through the years, he has done over 35,000 Mohs procedures and greatly enjoys the reconstructive aspect of surgery. Dr. Quan also travels to the Florence office every Tuesday to perform Mohs procedures.
Dr. Quan greatly enjoys what he does and feels that he has never “worked” a day in his life. Outside of work, Dr. Quan enjoys spending time with his family. He also loves fishing, throwing pottery and woodworking.
